Jeffrey Wasserman had been living in Norway for 2 decades carving out a living and reputation as a multi instrumentalist and progenitor of American Traditional Folk, Old Timey and Bluesgrass and as a Norwegian Grammy nominated lyricist for scores of recording artists of all genres in Scandinavia. But few were aware that he had composed a large body of songs (music and lyrics) that have never seen the light of day. When Knut Reiersrud heard some of Wasserman’s hitherto “secret” unrecorded songs, Reiersrud suggested that the time was ripe for these songs to come out from behind the curtain and release a solo “songwriter” record. With the help of Reiersrud (producer) and his band and artists that Jeff has earlier played with or written lyrics for, at last the dream of a solo album had come true with “Jeffrey & The Free Radikals”. Wasserman’s musical friends (The Free Radikals) participating on the album include Knut Reiersrud, Garth Hudson (of The Band), Fionnuala Sherry (Secret Garden), Cindy Cashdollar (Asleep at The Wheel, Bob Dylan’s band, Van Morrison, Ryan Adams’ “The Cardinals”), Claudia Scott, Martin Hagfors and many more.
The Free Radikals supported the release with a 4 city tour with Garth & Maud Hudson.
